Bumped into this fellow on a very busy street in Karachi. I apologized and offered to take a picture. He agreed…posed and then stopped me. Then he looked behind and apparently did not like the background. He changed his position to make this beautiful clock shop as background. Satisfied, he posed for the shot.
I may have lost a less posed and more natural shot but I really liked the spirit in the man. He is from north of Pakistan and works in Karachi. Real hardworking breed.
Great capture and I love when subjects care about how they look and help create the perfect shot.
Thanks. I am glad that you liked the portrait. It was amazing that day. Never expected such a response from such a simple human being who actually lives a very very simple life.
great portrait!
Great portrait. It’s a rare one as Pakistan people are quite reluctant to have their picture taken…
A thoughtful man….I can see it in his eyes.
Thanks for stopping by and commenting.
Love the story! It so different from the way people treat photographers in other parts of the world. Like they are having something to hide.
Thanks. I have found that many people would not object if asked. Unlike other countries, parents feel proud if I ask to photograph a pretty kid. No reservation at all. Asking a female is a different story though. Even if they do not mind, any male escort with them would object.
