Sans Burqa

This is a random shot of two ladies out for shopping. People outside Pakistan have asked me several times about Burqa. Many people think that every female in Pakistan wears a Burqa and is covered from head to toe. I assure you that that is not the case. On the contrary, very few wear Burqa. The most common dress for the ladies while outside is shown in this picture. You will see a ‘dopatta’ i.e. a shawl like fabric covering the upper part of the body. Many would wear this dopatta to cover the head though. Yet many would leave the dopatta at home.
