Sandals Shop

DSCF2258

A typical open air corner shop in a much bigger shopping market in Islamabad. This young man is selling sandals which no one seems to be interested in. All this cheap stuff comes from China and the markets are flooded with these goods. Good business for importers but hard for these shop keepers to sell.

Disposable economy!

Spot on your comment! What good is it buying a miniature Acropolis as a souvenir that it is made in China? This ruins the genuine, traditional, and on top of all it kills the fun and eventually affects the economy.

Ironically, when we, the Muslims, go for ‘Hajj’ or ‘Umra’ to Mecca, where non-Muslims are not allowed, we find most of the cheap souvenirs made in China. There are poor but crafty Muslim countries which can take up this business. But nobody can beat China in this sort of mass production.
      Thanks for the comment.

Thanks for such a encouraging comment. Very refreshing after feeling a bit sad for Imran Khan. Want to take good portraits, well start taking them. They will become good automatically.
      Good luck and happy shooting.
