Agressive Post Processing?

Today I was trying to increase contrast of the following image of my nephew Hanzalla:

The operation performed are

. Some increase in micro contrast using unsharp mask

.Conversion to black and white

. A bit of sharpening

.curves adjustment to increase contrast

. and finally partial  mixing to two layers in overlay mode

I ended up with the result:

I think the post processing is somewhat aggressive, something I hardly do.

What do you think?

    Maybe try a little soft focus on the face.

  2. Both are nice! The second one could be used in publications, either to make an obscure point, or just because black & contrast sometimes are lost, so photographers add extra black and contrast to balance things up.
