Roasted Peanuts

Winter in Pakistan brings dry fruits to shops and then to homes. Popular dry fruits are walnuts, pistachio, cashew, apricots, plums etc. But the most popular is roasted peanuts. Peanuts are roasted with the shell on and sold as is:


The center of the pile is kept hot by burning wood in a small clay pot.


Eating these peanuts is like manual focusing as compared to auto. One takes time to break the shell, take the nut out, remove the inner thin lining. This also keeps the taste buds unsaturated.
