Beijing Winter from Hotel Window

I was in Beijing in January 2013. It was too cold for me. The outside looked like the following from the hotel window. Enough of a deterrent for me to go out.

Winter in Islamabad is not that harsh.

I guess it’s partly the pollution in the air (as much as the season). I’ve often seen Chinese with face masks on, so we can only assume it’s not necessarily healthy air they breathe.
