As you may recall, I have a new toy. This Zeiss ZM 21/4.5 lens is incredibly sharp and focuses quite close. Following is a close shot of a flower.
I view my pictures in Picassa Viewer. It has a 1:1 button which when pressed will zoom the photo to 1:1 magnification. It is a bit animated zooming, happens in an instant and the picture seems to jump at you. Well, when I pressed 1:1 on the above photograph, what jumps at me is:
Do I need to say anything else.
No post processing. Even the composition of the crop was sort of automatic.
Enjoy.

That’s a very impressive lens. Congratulations!
Thanks. It is tiny, sharp, distortion free and flare free. Worth every penny (and these are lots of pennies).
I’m been admiring its sharp focus, but then, you must have a steady hand too.
You can have the sharpest lens in the world and still get a lousy photo if you can’t keep your hands steady when shooting hand-held and about to depress the shutter button.
Thanks Vicki. I do have a steady hand. However, accurate focusing could be a problem with this wide and slow lens. Then I only post the successful shots here.
A great lens.
It sure is. Thanks.
Beautiful shot – great shadow and the light coming through the petals is impressive.
Thank you. Late afternoon light is magical.
Just lovely! The original composition is delightful–and what a joy to find the hidden treasures in the crop!
Thanks.
Awesome lens, awesome results!
It sure is. Thanks.
