Aftermath of a Hailstorm

A few days ago we were hit by a hailstorm. While it was not heavy in Islamabad, it was quite heavy in my village and around.

We enjoyed

but

look what it has done to the standing wheat crop:

All ears broken and facing down, It is going to be tough for the effected farmers this year.

    Hail can be devastating to farmers. Growing up on the Canadian prairies, I witnessed many large hailstorms. Some of the hail stones would be bigger than baseballs – sometimes as large as cantaloupes! Rather terrifying.
