I am not new to photography. I have owned and used one camera or the other ever since I was a school going kid. I like to photograph travel, family, kids, simple portraits etc. Recently I have been inclined to do some street photography. I am too shy though.

In this blog, I will be showing some of the photographs I have taken. Will tell the story behind an image (if there is one).

I hope the readers find this blog interesting

  1. Dr_IQ, it is not the photography, it is the eye which sees most when it is closed, and then if in that state of mind you take a photo, it becomes an art, a masterpiece, a story, a happening, an adventure, and life – may be.

I love your candid photos of life in the street around you (and I like your shy sense of humour too).
Nothing beats seeing through the eyes of a photographer in another country and culture so different to my own – it’s almost as good as travelling to your country and seeing your lifestyle in reality.

Hello newest Spikey! I know, a bit corny, eh, but that’s the term that has come to stick for those folk who are part of the clan known to be followers of Uncle Spike 🙂

Thank you… I really appreciate that as I for one, know how many interesting and entertaining blogs are out there.

My aim is to deliver an eclectic offering of posts, from my ‘point n shoot’ attempts at basic photography, to the sharing of my travel adventures over the decades, as well as day to day happenings here on the farm. Oh, plus a few observations on life as I see it, thrown in for good measure.

My promise to you is not to be overbearing, just a couple of posts a day, maybe 3 at weekends if I have something special to share. But if you are at a loose end one day, maybe you’ll enjoy trawling through some of my older stuff too. I have added plenty of categories to help in said digging process.

Thanks again and hope you have a great day…

I love your photos! I particularly love patterns and colors. You say you are shy but you are definitely getting some interesting street pictures. My pictures are mostly devoid of people because, like you, I’m shy. Thanks for visiting my blog as well. I’ll take a lesson from your minimalist style and work on being more choosy with my words and photos. Keep up the good work!

    Dear Dr_IQ,

My name is Ashlee. I’m co-founder of the Youshare Project, with the mission to connect people around the world through stories. I recently stumbled across your blog and have enjoyed learning about your home country through your beautiful photos. I am wondering if you might consider joining our community and sharing a story and/or photo essay about your village under our “Inspiring Places” category? If this sounds interesting to you, I would love to email you directly with more information and formally invite you to share your story with the project.

You have my email address and website (although please note the site is still under development). I hope to hear from you soon.

  45. Ashlee says:

Dear Dr_IQ — Thank you for your reply to my comment and interest in youshare. I’m excited at the possibility of having you and your story as part of our global community. Aside from your village, it could be another place that you consider inspiring and that you would want to share with others. Would you like for me to email you with more information? If so, could you let me know your email address, or send me an email at ashlee@youshareproject.com? Thanks again!
